About The Urban Prepper

My name is Cliff, the creator behind The Urban Prepper, a preparedness-focused YouTube channel and community designed for everyday people living in urban and suburban environments.

I’m a full-time engineer by trade, but for over a decade, I’ve been deeply invested in building organized, practical, and scalable emergency kits for my family and sharing what I’ve learned online. What started as a hobby in 2010 has now grown into one of the most detailed and methodical preparedness channels on YouTube, with over 300,000 subscribers and a focus on modular gear, checklists, color-coded systems, and real-life strategies.

Unlike many survival channels that focus on wilderness survival or tactical solutions, I focus on realistic scenarios like power outages, earthquakes, wildfires, civil unrest, and even daily carry considerations, especially for those of us with families, jobs, pets, and responsibilities. My goal is to make prepping approachable, non-paranoid, and actually useful.

I’m also a dad, a Pacific Northwest native, and someone who believes that staying prepared isn’t just about gear. It’s about peace of mind, readiness, and resilience. Thanks for stopping by. Got Preps?
